Hunting

Our area of Western Colorado has multiple options for the game hunter.  If your quarry is trophy quality elk,  pronghorn antelope, deer, mountain lion, Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Moose, waterfowl or small game, our central location gives the hunter unlimited choices for the fall hunt.

The following outline is for the 2012 Season (consult the web site for additional details):

Archery:  August 25 to September 23 for Deer/Elk

Pronghorn- Bucks:  August 15 through 31^st.

Either Sex:  September 1 through 20.

Moose:  September 8^th through 23.

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep:  the dates vary by Unit, see web site.

Muzzle Loader:  Deer/Elk (by Drawing Only), September 8 through 16^th.

Pronghorn:  October 21^st through October 29^th.

Rifle Deer, Combined Deer/Elk, & Separate Elk:

Limited Elk:  October 13^th through 17^th (1^st season)

Combined:  October 20^th through 28^th (2^nd season)

Combined:  November 3^rd through 11^th (3^rd season)

Combined Limited:  November 14^th through 18^th (4^th season)

Antlered Deer:  (by Drawing Only)  September 8^th through 16^th

Rifle Pronghorn:  (by Drawing Only) October 6^th through 12^th

Rifle Moose:  (by Drawing Only)  October 1^st through 14^th

Black Bear:  Limited:  (by Drawing Only)  September 2^nd through 30^th

Archery:  (Unlimited w/Cap)  September 2^nd through 23^rd

Muzzle Loading (Unlimited w/Cap)  September 8^th through 16^th

Fees:  Resident Fee Range from $34 to $254

Non Resident Fee Range from $579 to $1,919
