Hunting

Our area of Western Colorado has multiple options for the game hunter.  If your quarry is trophy quality elk,  pronghorn antelope, deer, mountain lion, Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Moose, waterfowl or small game, our central location gives the hunter unlimited choices for the fall hunt.

The following outline is for the 2012 Season (consult the web site for additional details):

Archery:  August 25 to September 23 for Deer/Elk

Pronghorn- Bucks:  August 15 through 31st.

Either Sex:  September 1 through 20.

Moose:  September 8th through 23.

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep:  the dates vary by Unit, see web site.

Muzzle Loader:  Deer/Elk (by Drawing Only), September 8 through 16th.

Pronghorn:  October 21st through October 29th.

Rifle Deer, Combined Deer/Elk, & Separate Elk:

Limited Elk:  October 13th through 17th (1st season)

Combined:  October 20th through 28th (2nd season)

Combined:  November 3rd through 11th (3rd season)

Combined Limited:  November 14th through 18th (4th season)

Antlered Deer:  (by Drawing Only)  September 8th through 16th

Rifle Pronghorn:  (by Drawing Only) October 6th through 12th

Rifle Moose:  (by Drawing Only)  October 1st through 14th

Black Bear:  Limited:  (by Drawing Only)  September 2nd through 30th

Archery:  (Unlimited w/Cap)  September 2nd through 23rd

Muzzle Loading (Unlimited w/Cap)  September 8th through 16th

Fees:  Resident Fee Range from $34 to $254

Non Resident Fee Range from $579 to $1,919
